Facebook Groups for businesses are the hottest new trend right now. There are over 500 million users on facebook and more than half of them login on a daily basis. At this writing they say there are People are going facebook group crazy! I’ve attended a number of Webinars this week and watched video conferences that just blow me away with the absolute astonishing results that people are getting in just a few days after creating a niche facebook group.
So you own a network marketing business and you have a thousand followers on your fan page or your profile. Some of them are your friends from high school, some are your business partners, some are family. You don’t want everyone on your profile to see what your talking about with your business partners so you create a group and add all your business partners.
“Only add your friends to the Facebook Groups for your business based on who you want in the group or targeted for that group.” Don’t just randomly add people who don’t give a crap about the group. You need people to interact to get the group growing.
Once they are added the group shows up on the sidebar in facebook, they start getting emails from those members of the group who are participating by adding comments to threads and so forth.
Facebook Groups for Business do at least two things – establish a place for people to meet and talk with everyone at the same time. A place for you to go to get help because everyone in the group should be either learning or taking an interesting in what the group is about.
A fact about Facebook Groups is that your friends can invite their friends and then there is a trickle effect where the group starts growing without you having to market it in a traditional way. People will start joining based on the conversations going on, the topic of the group and similar interests. Another fact is that there are 3 ways you can create the group Open, Closed and Private.
An open facebook group means anyone can join without prior approval. Sometimes that can be a good thing because if your really busy person you don’t have to approve members who want to join. Especially if you are the only one running the group.
A closed group is nice if you are wanting just a certain type of person to join within your circle of friends. You can then moderate who you want to join. Again if you are a busy person you may have to task someone to approve people who want to be in the group if it becomes a hugely popular.
A secret group is a group that only people who are invited know about. This is great if you don’t want random people trying to join the group. Lets say you are trying to setup a surprise birthday party with a select group of people on facebook for your wife and you don’t want it spoiled! Invite all the members who are going to be a part of this surprise and collaborate with them. This is a sure way to make sure she doesn’t know about it because if she gets added to the group then the whole thing is spoiled! You don’t want that! Same thing goes for a facebook groups designed for your business if you have a secret meeting
I say go facebook group crazy! Leave your comments below!
Peace Out!
